Courses

Throughout the J2050 project, courses and seminars were held to focus the project and participants on the academic research and discussion as well as to ad a plurality of people and opinions to the discussion.  In preparation for the Just Jerusalem Competition, DUSP held “Cities in Conflict: Theory and Practice” course in fall 2003 and the “Cities against Nationalism: Urbanism as Visionary Politics” Seminar Series and a graduate-level course taught by Diane Davis and Larry Vale, entitled “City Visions: Past and Future” in the spring 2004 semester.

During the fall 2008 semester, while the Jerusalem Visionary Fellows were at MIT, DUSP held an undergraduate course taught by Anat Biletzki “Human Rights in Theory and Practice” and a graduate course taught by Diane Davis “Urban Development in Conflict Cities.  Additionally, CIS sponsored the “Jerusalem Seminar Series.”

While the project has now moved mostly to a web-based initiative, occasionally J2050 will sponsor or co-sponsor individual speakers at MIT.
