J2050’s ambitious goals, as enabled by the establishment of this website, focus on enlarging the scope of the dialogue on Jerusalem and conflict cities. In the near future, we also would hope to:
- translate this website into Hebrew, Arabic and relevant languages employed in other conflict cities being discussed
- hold conferences on Jerusalem or other conflict cities in which visionaries, local residents, urban policy makers, and politicians can debate multiple paths towards peace
- create more online spaces for universities to interact and dialogue in the form of joint courses on Jerusalem, on urban planning for conflict cities, and on other related topics
We have launched this website as a forum to continue the discussions already started and to add new voices and energy to the work being done, as well as to allow the project to take on a life of its own.
If you would like to financially support the project, especially one of the three activities noted above, donations can be sent through the Treasurer's Office at MIT. Instructions can be found at http://development.mit.edu/offices/finance-administration-recording-secretary/ . Please designate the gift for the Director's Fund, Center for International Studies, Jerusalem 2050.
