Brendan is a PhD candidate at the School of Sociology, Social policy and Social work at Queens University Belfast. His interests lie primarily in Human Rights and Conflict Resolution and he holds a Law degree and Human Rights Masters both from Queens University. He is currently researching cultural events in conflicted and divided cities as forms of passive resistance and the State's responses to these events, taking his hometown of Belfast, N. Ireland and Jerusalem as his two main comparators.
