Problem: Everyone knows that the conflict among different groups of people in Jerusalem is very serious today. The major groups in old city of Jerusalem are Jew, Christian and Arab, their conflict last the past thousands years in the history of Jerusalem and still continue in today.

Research: almost all these conflict result from the different of religions: Judaism, Christianism and Islam. Religion comes from two ways, one is from the mystery and unknowable of nature, the other is from disaster such as war and starvation. Certain religion comes from certain condition and has its particular characters, but they all come from the nature although they have different understand of nature.

Resolvent: we should regard the difference among these three major religions in Jerusalem, try to make them stay harmonious together but not emphasize particular on certain religion. We can’t use force to reduce the difference among religions, what we can do is make them reduce the conflict and share the peaceful city, share the peaceful nature.

3 in 1 Museum of Peace:

In order to respect each religion’s history in Jerusalem, the museum is divided into three “small museum” by circulation system. In each individual museum, visitor can have an overall experience of certain religion and have a 360 degree view of exterior view to the city around. After visitor of different religion share the same city in the exterior view and the same nature in the interior view, they join together in the roof garden, which should be the “Heaven” of each religion. Look at the same smile in our kids’ face! No mater what religion they from.

The world of human can be divided into mundane and religion. The museum also can be divided into two systems: the interior vertical center atrium for religion and the exterior horizontal exhibition space for mundane. The 36 meters height atrium with spiral stair system provides a strong religion space. Visitor can look down to the sacred stone in the water or look up to the dome in the sky.

The exterior shape of the Museum is a simple ball, this idea comes from the shape of our earth, and it will not conflict with other buildings in the city because ball is quite comfortable to any shapes nearby. The ground floor and site plan have some ideas from flowers likes Jerusalem artichokes, old calendar and dome.

Location: can be in the old city, in the intersection point of three religion’s area, or can be build in open area outside old city.
