A team of three Jerusalemites are submitting a proposal for the creation of a science-art based creative center that can be implemented in the near future as one catalyst in the direction of a just peaceful and sustainable Jerusalem in 2050. The center of gravity for this project is a multi-purpose immersive dome which allows, outside development hours, the transformation of the site to a trendy edutainment destination for the public in Jerusalem. Both astronomy exploration and film screening will be equally defining for this venture. The business model assumes launch out of Jerusalem, the R&D center remaining in Jerusalem while working towards international franchising. This project fills an existing gap in Jerusalem which does not have a planetarium at this time. More importantly it builds on the impressive rising film making on the Israeli and Palestinian sides. It also builds on recent evidence of art conduciveness to peace seemingly though the creation of common layers of identity based on shared creative ethos and humanistic values. The proposed business plans to set precedence by introducing a progressive open “Code of Ethics” which reflects the vision articulated by the founders towards just, peaceful and sustainable Jerusalem. It also plans to locate the project on land to be “freed” on the boundaries of Beit Safafa-Jerusalem and which can be easily and safely accessible to all in Jerusalem.
