Situation in Jerusalem / Motivation of our work

East Jerusalem was conquered by Israel in 1967 through a six-day war. In 1980

whole Jerusalem was an indivisible capitol of Israel by a fundamental law. The Palestinian also claim for the East of the city as their capitol for a prospected state Palestine. Until today this situation represents the basic problem of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Attacks from Palestinian extremists or human citizenship injury from the Israelis are the normal course of life. Both see them in right; a peaceful end is not in sight. Finally they have also built a wall which should separate Israel from the Westbank. When it´s finished there will be an insuperable wall with over 759m length, which should keep off the attacks. With it´s course it separates people from their families, school, work and thus it can be seen as a new starting point for new violence.

Project

The wall is a kind of visualization of many problems and issues. The wall is describing a conflict and not the reason. It’s a virtual prison which includes people. The problems will not be solved by just demolish the wall. First of all the wall inside the peoples mind has to fall. The Project “Elements of Conflict” should provide dedicated people a platform for discussion and should help to solve problems.

Cooperation

The page should offer the possibility to inform, to interchange experiences and of course to help Jerusalem active or passive for a better future.

Active: (create a working group)

It is possible to create new problem- and discussion points and they will automatically be registered. The location of the project or the location for the accordingly working group will be fixed in a virtual card. In a separate index card you can see all information about the working group, location, contact and terms. Moreover the project is headed with the key aspects, initiatives and also the working steps.

Passive: (be part of a working group)

The virtual card and a list of the key aspects make it possible to search for projects and working groups in the surrounding or to search for projects by individual interest. You can inform yourself or you can also join a working group.
