We are proud to present our Jerusalem Earth Model (JEM) for the City of Jerusalem, 2050.
JEM aims to restore Jerusalem to its historical role at the hub of human social, cultural, political and economic development by developing a new Axis Mundi connecting the heavenly Jerusalem to that of the mundane earthly one.
JEM will develop twin spheres, the Geosphere and the Celestial Sphere, as a landmark on the ground and an 'airmark' above it. They will be models of balance, coexistence, beauty and harmonious existence on the Jerusalem skyline.
JEM supports fundamental principles of equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of religion, culture, ethnic grouping or sovereignty.
We propose the City of Jerusalem as the capital of twin states: Israel and the Western Provinces of the Jordanian/Palestinian Confederation. We foresee fair government in our Jerusalem of 2050, based on locally-administered constituencies, with proportional representation in each their sectors.
The JEM project will generate by new designs an evolution of workable options for one of the most pressing problems in Jerusalem: the lack of space on the ground.
Our city on the ground is paired with a whole new concept for living space, elevated above it: The JEM Celestial Sphere represents a continuation of the respected work of Tomás Saraceno in designing airborne communities as a solution to the world's exploding population. In it, we will translate this rather esoteric concept into solid scientific terms, using existing tools and technologies.
The JEM complex will be an economic anchor creating a new world destination centre of edutainment, tourism, commerce and IT. It will house a vast global information resource, providing facilities and tools for research, education and planning of sustainable cities and environments for the future of mankind.
