Thinking about the ethnic conflicts in Jerusalem, we were analysing the Education system and immediately saw the roots of the problem. If you have two opposing parties that have problems of any kind with each other, the best way for them is to sit around a table an discuss things out till a solution will be found. This scheme also has its sense in Education. The Minds of a new generation will not change if the are strictly separated from the other party in their Education, that way they will never see and experience both sides of the spectrum. But for sure those children, once brought together, would be much more tolerant and open for compromises then their parents!
What we present here is a new school system for the young and well developable region of East Jerusalem. A school system were Jews and Arabs will learn together, side by side, to once be a generation of Jerusalem citizens that will see itself as one community with a common past and, more important, a common future!
The Aim of this „New School“-System is to bury the hate, anger and prejudices, the results of former times of war which simply can not be made undone anymore, and give the new generation a chance of living side by side, looking forward into a future of respecting each other as human beings. There will be no Jews and Arabs in common sense, there will only be citizens of Jerusalem in the future and they will work and live together hand in hand, forming Jerusalem towards a modern, dynamic and peaceful city, where no separation wall will be needed anymore. Our Five Points plan on the right hand side summarises the social goals that the “New School”-System should help to fulfill, to create a peaceful Jerusalem 2050!
