habitat exposition terrace built with salvaged material.
In the north : Situated on the site of the old airport Atarot, at the edge of the city, a market made up of three large greenhouses raising fruits, vegetables and flowers creates an attractive node in a remote part of the city.
The surroundings’ population will be able to install their merchandises or to buy the products from greenhouses. The products will be then easily imported either in Palestine than Israel. Kalandya’s ancient checkpoint is adapted into a new rail station, and the main roads are rebuilt in order to facilitate an access from Ramallah.
In the centre: A new central trail station situated between Har Atsofim and Arabes villages creates a new network that integrates East/West to North/South. Today’s tramway under construction is continued in the East in order to reconcile the East/West divide. This station becomes the central hub of transportation fro the city and generates a balance between the East and the West. On the North/South axis, old checkpoints are adapted into stations. Here also “the delicate point” is transformed but always in keeping with the vision to preserve the elements which create the collective memory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
In addition to these three projects, more little projects are anticipated on the line. That will give all sense to the whole.
